亥姆霍兹定理  流体力学中有关涡旋的动力学性质的一个著名定理。它指出,在无粘性、正压流体中,若外力有势,则在某时刻组成涡线、涡面和涡管的流体质点在以前或以后任一时刻也永远组成涡线、涡面和涡管,而且涡管强度在运动过程中恒不变。亥姆霍兹定理和开尔文定理合在一起全面地描述了在无粘性、正压、外力有势这三个条件下流体中涡旋的随体变化规律。首先,流体运动的涡旋性是保持的,即某时刻有旋则永远有旋,某时刻无旋则永远无旋。其次,对于有旋运动,涡线、涡管永远由相同的流体质点组成,并且涡管的强度不随时间改变,好象流体质点和涡旋强度冻结在涡线、涡管上,随涡线、涡管一起运动。可见涡旋随体变化的最主要的性质是保持性或谓冻结性。破坏涡旋保持性,使涡旋产生和消失的三个主要因素是:流体的粘性、流体的斜压性以及外力无势。贸易风和船舶航行时船尾后面不断产生的涡旋便是斜压性、外力无势产生涡旋和粘性产生涡旋的两个例子。
