无线电测向运动 即"猎狐"运动,是使用无线电测向机寻找隐蔽电台(狐狸电台)的无线电竞赛项目。比赛在业余波段进行,目前大都使用短波80米和超短波 2米两个波段。比赛地点可选择野外各种复杂地形,也可选在繁华的市区,隐蔽电台需加伪装,使运动员凭眼力不易看到。例如放在树上或草丛中。隐蔽电台可用人工或自动发射讯号。比赛时,运动员从远离电台的地点出发,手持测向机徒步(有时也可规定使用交通工具)寻找隐蔽电台。测向机具有方向性,运动员转动测向机的方向,根据收听讯号强弱不同,判断电台的方向。比赛是在规定的条件下,寻找出一定数量的隐蔽电台,以寻找时间短者为胜。因此运动员不仅要熟练掌握测向技术,而且要有强壮的身体,才能在比赛中快步奔跑,超越各种障碍,缩短寻找时间,获取比赛胜利。目前无线电测向运动已成为世界性的竞赛项目。中国在20世纪60年代曾举办数次全国无线电测向比赛,1980年又举行了男、女和少年的全国比赛。
