走进克兰芝蓄水池公园,处处可闻口哨声。别误会,可不是什么人不识趣地破坏大自然的宁静,而是一群在红树林里出没的留鸟发出清脆的口哨声。正当候鸟在季节转变时纷纷往北方飞去,这时却是留鸟寻找配偶与繁殖的时候。五彩缤纷鸟类世界克兰芝蓄水池公园有一片还未遭受破坏的红树林,是观鸟爱好者的观鸟地点之一。根据新加坡自然学会提供的资料,每年的3月至6月间,是留鸟的繁殖时期,也许是为了吸引配偶,它们在此时的鸣叫声特别动听。据知,在这片红树林出没的留鸟不少,如果仔细观察的话,可以看到的是五彩缤纷鸟类世界。这里的常客计有缝叶莺 (fly eater)、黑翅雀鹎 (common iora)、太阳鸟 (sun bird)、白胸雅鹛 (white-chested babbler)、褐头啄木鸟 (sunda woodpecker) 等。要看杜鹃,就得到克兰芝来,因为杜鹃是这里独有的。在退潮的时候,或许可以看见这些留鸟在海边觅食。果真如此,就请别骚扰它们,让它们保有自由的天空。据自然学会提供的资料,由于到克兰芝的人不多,所以红树林的留鸟才会比较多,因为它们才能有生存的空间。可惜的是,当记者到访时,看到红树林旁开始堆积人类留下来的垃圾,以致发出一阵臭味。留鸟的家园,就在这样一点一点地被破坏。到克兰芝的人,不尽然是为观鸟而来,有不少是来垂钓或捕捉沙蚌的。不过,一些钓鱼常客告诉记者,这里的沙蚌已经越来越少,也不能说是钓鱼最理想的地点。虽然没有丰收,但是钓鱼客们还是被这里优美的风景所吸引,一来再来。或许因为这里还像是未被发现的新天地,没什么人管,也乐得自在。钓鱼客说,克兰芝蓄水池公园有几点“不好”,所以人们都不来。一是停车场不方便,必须步行一段路；二是蚊子太多,现代人不习惯；三是有野狗,路人不放心。当然,只要遵守大自然的游戏规则,不乱丢垃圾、不打扰克兰芝的“原住民”,那问题应该不大。值得介绍的是,这里有个二战纪念碑,纪念当年的克兰芝海滩战役。乘搭925号巴士进入公园的那一段路程相当有趣,自有一番原始森林的风景。925号巴士是进入公园唯一的公共巴士,就在公园外下车。余兴未了的人,可乘搭以上巴士或驾车进入毗邻的双溪布洛天然公园。虽然没有丰收,但是钓鱼客们还是被这里优美的风景所吸引,一来再来。或许因为这里还像是未被发现的新天地,没什么人管,也乐得自在。
