水文缆道 由岸上控制操作的、用于流量测验和泥沙测验的设备。由缆索系统驱动装置和测验仪器设备等部分组成。测验时，操纵仪器沿主索作水平运动，到达测验位置后，下放仪器到预定测点进行测速、取沙。 缆索系统包括主索、循环索、起重索和悬索等部分。为了减速和省力，常加设动滑轮组和平衡锤装置。典型布设型式见附图。驱动装置为电动和手动绞车，用以提放运载仪器的铅鱼，铅鱼重量为100～750公斤，根据水深和流速的大小来配置不同重量。绞车装设有可控硅无级调速装置，目的在于消除或减小由于绞车突然起动和停车时所引起的缆索弹动，减小测验误差。 起点距和悬索长度，可利用传感轮感应循回索和起重索的运行长度测记，并用计数器显示测量数据。测深有铅鱼测深、压力传感测深和数字式回声测深等方法。铅鱼测深的方法是在铅鱼上装有浮子式水面信号和托板式河底信号发生器，铅鱼入水时，浮子浮起，发出水面信号，悬索记数器开始计数，达到河底时，装设在铅鱼底部的托板托起，发出信号,记数器终止计数,得出悬索计数长度。当悬索偏角很小时，此值即为垂线水深。如偏角大于5°(或10°)时,应对悬索计数长度进行偏角改正，求出垂线水深。测速仪器为常用的旋桨式或旋杯式流速仪。测沙仪器一般采用积时式悬沙采样器。测深、测速和测沙的信号，通过钢丝绳悬索与水体构成回路传至岸上，进行操作控制和显示。
