碳酸盐岩碳酸盐岩carbonaterock主要由碳酸盐矿物(大于50%)组成的沉积岩。主要矿物成分是方解石、白云石、铁白云石、菱镁矿等,其次为石英、云母、长石和粘土矿物等;化学成分主要为CaO、MgO和CO2,其次为SiO2、TiO2、FeO、Fe2O3、Al2O3、K2O、Na2O、H2O以及某些微量元素。通常为灰色、灰白色。性脆。具粒屑(如岩屑、生物碎屑等)、生物骨架(如珊瑚、层孔虫等)、晶粒(粗晶、中晶、细晶、微晶等)和残余(残余生物、残余鲕状)结构。构造类型复杂、多样,有叠层构造(如常见于潮坪地区的叠层石)、乌眼构造和缝合线构造。多呈厚层或薄层状产出。可分为石灰岩和白云岩两大岩石类型。①石灰岩类。主要矿物为方解石(>50%),其次为白云石、菱镁矿、石英、长石和粘土矿物等。常见岩石类型有内碎屑灰岩,生物碎屑灰岩、鲕粒灰岩、球粒灰岩、泥晶灰岩、石灰华和泉华等。②白云岩类。主要由白云石(>50%)组成,其次为方解石、菱镁矿、石英、长石、粘土矿物等。常见岩石类型有同生白云岩、碎屑白云岩、成岩白云岩和后生白云岩等。因受物理化学条件变化的影响,常发生白云岩化、膏化、硅化、重结晶及溶蚀等后生作用。岩性较脆弱,易遭风化溶蚀,在碳酸盐岩发育地区常形成石林、溶洞、地下暗河等地貌景观,通称喀斯特地形。碳酸盐岩在地壳中分布仅次于泥质岩和砂岩,约占沉积岩总面积的20%,几乎在各个地史时期都有形成。中国各地,特别是西南地区,也广泛分布有碳酸盐岩,其成岩时代主要为震旦纪、寒武纪、奥陶 纪、泥盆纪、石炭纪和二 叠纪。许多金属矿产(如铜、铅、锌、汞、锑、钼、钴、银等)和非金属矿产(如重晶石、天青石、石棉、自然硫、水晶、萤石、冰洲石等)在成因上都与碳酸盐岩有关。世界上与碳酸盐岩有关的石油和天然气储量占总储量的50%,产量约占总产量的60%。
