前陆盆地前陆盆地fore-landbasin介于克拉通与造山带前缘的沉积盆地。又称山前坳陷、前渊。前陆是指克拉通与冒地斜相邻的部分。前陆盆地按其形成的构造位置可以分为两类:①周边前陆盆地,紧靠在大陆碰撞所产生的造山带外侧,在向下挠曲的陆壳之上形成沉积盆地。如中国天山北麓山前坳陷,喜马拉雅山南麓印度河-恒河盆地和阿尔卑斯山北麓磨拉石盆地。②弧后前陆盆地,发育在岩浆弧之后,常与B型俯冲有关,当断层片叠覆于陆壳上形成荷载时,区域性的均衡沉降产生前渊,聚集大量来自前陆和后陆方向的沉积物,如加拿大阿尔伯达盆地。前陆盆地的发育主要与冲断层带的活动有关,由于冲断带荷载使岩石圈挠曲,形成前陆沉降。因此前陆盆地演化主要与冲断带向克拉通方向推进有关。当盆地位于活动冲断带前方时,称为前缘盆地。随着冲断带的推进,盆地就位于冲断层的顶部,称为冲驮盆地。前陆盆地的沉积作用在早期与晚期不同,早期沉积物通常为海相细粒的浊流沉积,称为复理石盆地,后期沉积物主要为浅水或陆相冲积扇或扇-三角洲粗碎屑沉积,称为磨拉石盆地。从岩石学特征来看,前陆盆地的早期沉积中石英矿物丰富,而长石矿物较少,说明物源主要来自克拉通,后期沉积中含有较丰富的岩屑,说明物源主要来自造山带,由于造山带逐步遭受剥蚀,在沉积的碎屑物中出现倒序现象,如年代较老的砾岩层,其源岩时代较新,而年代较新的砾岩层,其源岩时代较老。因此前陆盆地的构造活动与沉积作用具有相关性。
