獐獐Hydropotesinermischineseriverdeer鹿科獐属的一种。又称河麂。体长0.78~1.00米,体重9~11千克;肩高0.45~0.55米;毛粗硬,体侧和臀部毛长约4厘米;背和体侧毛色沙黄,毛尖黑色,头顶灰褐至红褐色,颏、喉、嘴周围和腹毛白色;幼獐背部有白斑和白纹;上犬齿发达,雄兽的尤其长而大(约5厘米),略弯,呈獠牙状,露于口外,雌雄均有腹股沟腺(鼠鼷腺)。分布于中国长江沿岸以及朝鲜。不结大群,最多3~5只在一起。受惊扰时狂奔如兔。以芦苇、杂草及其他植物性食物为食。每窝产仔4~7只,产于5月间。獐有2个亚种:指名亚种分布在中国长江中、下游;朝鲜亚种分布在朝鲜,栖息于山溪两岸的草丛、农田附近的芦苇塘中。在中国已列为保护动物,严禁猎捕。
