湛江港湛江港中国南方海港。位于广东省雷州半岛东北部的广州湾内。海湾纵深60余千米，湾外有硇洲、东海、南三诸岛为屏障，港内水深浪静，海域宽阔，航行和停泊条件良好，且无回淤，是中国天然良港之一。湛江港为西南各省出海捷径，它是中国通往东南亚、欧洲、非洲和澳大利亚的海上航线最短的海港。自开港以后已同70多个国家和地区有贸易运输往来。早在宋绍兴年间就在旧县村设置椹川巡检司管理广州湾沿岸古港防务和航政。广州湾沿岸古港埠包括赤坎港、石门港、平乐埠、海头港、旧县港、通明港、限门港等。清道光年间赤坎港已相当繁荣。1898年法国强行租借广州湾，1911～1917年在海头港一带修建海港，但仅有栈桥一座。1943年广州湾为日本占领。1945年抗日战争胜利后收回，改名为湛江市。中华人民共和国建立后，1956年12月建成新港正式投产。湛江港有3个作业区，分布在广州湾西岸石头角和调顺岛之间，目前有码头岸线近3千米，生产泊位15个，其中万吨至5万吨级泊位9个，各类锚地18个，仓库面积7万平方米；堆场约30万平方米，油罐容量14万多立方米；湛江和茂名之间有输油管道；港口有港作船舶38艘，生产机械430余台，港区铁路长60千米，第四作业区第一期工程建造万吨以上泊位6个，使湛江港通过能力增加20％。湛江港航道从南海经硇州岛以北水域进入广州湾，全长60千米，水深10～12米，航道沿线设有灯桩12对，灯浮28具，防台浮筒12个等助航设施。进出口货物中，石油约占一半，矿砂、粮食、煤炭等散货约占30％，其余为化肥、金属、建筑材料等杂货。吞吐物资除石油外，主要靠铁路集散。客运有湛江—香港定期航线，湛江—海口航线等。£湛江港5万吨级油码头
