弯曲杆菌属 螺菌科的1属。过去曾划归弧菌属，呈逗点状或S形，微需氧，革兰氏染色阴性。菌体大小(0.2～0.5)×(1.5～5)微米，较长的可有4～5个弯曲。具极端鞭毛，运动快速,不形成芽孢。在血琼脂上易生长,菌落有光滑型和粗糙型两种。DNA中的G+C克分子含量为30％～35％。具有O（菌体）、H（鞭毛）和K（荚膜）3种抗原。本属菌有胎儿弯杆菌、痰液弯杆菌和粪弯杆菌 3种，前两种又分2～3个亚种，胎儿弯杆菌空肠亚种是引起婴幼儿急性腹泻的重要病原之一。有些菌种可导致牛、羊流产。弯杆菌属不同种的生物学性状（见表）。大多数菌株对多种抗生素敏感，尤其是庆大霉素、红霉素和氯霉素。
