三江平原湿地三江自然保护区位于黑龙江省抚远县和同江市境内,总面积198089公顷,其中核心区5.6万公顷,保护区于1994年经黑龙江省人民政府批准建立,是一个以沼泽湿地为主要保护对象地自然保护区。保护区地处黑龙江与乌苏里江汇流的三角地带,属低冲积平原沼泽湿地,为三江平原东端受人为干扰最小的湿地生态系统的典型代表,也是全球少见的淡沼泽湿地之一。区内泡沼遍布,河流纵横,自然植被以沼泽化草甸为主,并间有岛状森林分布,均保持着原始自然状态。保护区内动植物资源丰富,共有脊椎动物291种,其中国家一级保护的野生动物有白鹳、丹顶鹤,白尾海雕等9种,国家二级保护的野生动物有大天鹅、白枕鹤、雷鸟、水獭、猞猁等32种;有高等植物近500种,其中野大豆、黄菠萝、水曲柳被列为国家二级保护野生植物。
