观众厅挑台 为增加观众厅内的席位而设置的悬挑看台，同观众厅的池座和看台相对而言，又称“楼座”或"楼座挑台"。这种挑台根据结构可分为梁架支承式挑台和悬臂支承式挑台。 梁架支承式挑台 采用大梁(或桁架)为支承结构的挑台。挑台由大梁(或桁架)、挑台斜梁和挑台面踏步板组成。挑台斜梁的倾斜曲线应根据观众视线设计。挑台台面按照挑台倾斜曲线设计成踏步形。梁架支承式挑台一般采用钢筋混凝土结构。为缩小梁架的断面尺寸，减轻自重，可用钢结构梁架。1976年上海中兴剧场采用预应力钢铰线混凝土悬带和钢筋混凝土双肢压杆组合的悬带结构来代替大梁，同挑台斜梁和挑台面踏步板组成观众厅挑台（见图）。出于视线要求，楼座的平面采用弧形的布置。楼座的横剖面呈中间凹、两端高的阶梯形。悬带结构可充分利用弧形平面所形成的空间。 悬臂支承式挑台 采用悬臂梁或悬臂桁架作为支承结构的悬臂式挑台，有全挑式和半挑式两种。①全挑式挑台是用悬臂梁或悬臂桁架直接从观众厅后墙或侧墙的框架柱上伸出，省去横向大梁，简化了挑台结构，不受大厅跨度的限制，但悬臂挑出的长度不能太大。②半挑式挑台是在悬臂梁或悬臂桁架的下面设立柱子，作为中间支点，以获得较大的挑出长度。为了增加观众厅容量，扩大挑台空间，挑台上面的后墙可后退到建筑物门厅的上面，所以也称"后退悬臂式挑台"。这种挑台和门厅中的框架连接在一起，形成刚性整体。悬臂式挑台通常用钢筋混凝土和钢结构。 其他设施 观众厅挑台的阶梯踏步、挑台栏杆和挑台下面顶棚都应进行技术和艺术处理。挑台上的空调回风口和通行用的地灯常设在踏步的起步侧板内。挑台的楼座栏杆设在挑台前沿，栏杆的全部或下半部应设计成栏板式，以保证安全和避免杂物散落。栏板不但需要艺术处理，还应结合大厅的音质要求考虑。挑台下部常设吊顶，既为了美化，也是大厅音质设计的需要。吊顶和挑台斜面之间可作设备空间和储藏室等之用。
