践履  中国古代的哲学概念。践履本为足踏地之意,《诗经·大雅·行苇》:"敦彼行苇,牛羊勿践履。"后转为步行、经历等义,再引申为行动、实行、实践,从而具有了一定的哲学意义。    践履这个概念在宋明理学中运用得较为普遍。它的一般意义是行或实践,而其具体内容则多指封建道德的实践躬行。朱熹说:"《大学》之书,虽以格物致知为用力之始,然非谓初不涵养践履,而直从事于此也。"他认为从教育孩童孝悌诚敬开始,洒扫应对之间,礼乐射御之际,都要在涵养践履上下着实的功夫。他批评"今人之所谓践履者,只做得个皮草",而他自己则"讲说时少,践履时多"。但是,在一般地讨论到知和行、穷理和践履的关系时,他总是强调必先求知明理而后践履。他批评一种"只说践履,而不务穷理"的倾向,说:"义理不明,如何践履?......今人多教人践履,皆是自立标致去教人。"这里他坚持了知先行后的认识路线。明代唯物主义哲学家王廷相的"履事"概念也相当于"践履",他说:"学之术有二,曰致知,曰履事,兼之者上也。"这里表现了知和行并重的思想。明清时期的唯物主义思想家则从行先知后、行高于知的意义上来强调践履的重要作用。例如王夫之说:"学之必兼笃行,则以效先觉之为,乃学之本义。......必以践履为主,不徒讲习讨论而可云学也。"认为"学"不只是讲习讨论,它本身就包括行,而且应该以践履、笃行为主要内容。王廷相、王夫之、颜元等人都很重视"践履"的作用。
