晶体学点群晶体学点群crystallographicpointgroups描述晶体宏观对称性的对称操作群。各种晶体在外观上均呈现某种对称性,能够使晶体外形复原的操作称为对称操作,据以进行对称操作的几何点、线、面称为对称元素。晶体的对称元素及对应的对称操作如下表所示:表:晶体的对称元素及对应的对称操作由于晶体具有三维周期性的点阵结构,晶体没有n=5或n>6的转轴,对表中所有对称元素进行组合,共计有32种组合方式,形成32种点群。在表中所有对称操作的作用下,晶体中至少有一点是不动的,这样的对称操作叫作点对称操作,相应的对称操作群称为点群。
