叶甲科叶甲科Chrysomelidae;leafbeetles鞘翅目叶甲总科的一科。通称叶甲。又称金花虫。是鞘翅目的大科之一。世界性分布。中国约1400种。成虫多有艳丽的金属光泽。头型为亚前口式,触角细长、丝状或近似念珠状,一般11节,个别9或10节。头部嵌入胸腔很深,复眼后缘与前胸背板前缘接触。成虫鞘翅一般盖及腹端,后翅发达,有一定飞翔能力。但许多在土、石下生活的种类,后翅常退化以至消失。高山空气稀薄,气候寒冷,风力强劲,在这里飞翔能力成为叶甲适应的不利因素,而不飞翔。土栖、石栖反而成为进化的方向。因此,许多真正适应高山高原环境的叶甲已失去后翅,而萤叶甲亚科的短鞘萤叶甲属和跳甲亚科的丝跳甲属的某些种,不仅后翅消失,鞘翅亦大为减缩,成为残留器官。它们组成高山高原区系的特有类群。成虫的雌雄次特性征比较明显。该科成虫和幼虫均为植食性,取食植物的根、茎、叶、花等。许多种类对农作物、蔬菜、林木、果树、牧草造成严重危害,例如世界著名的害虫马铃薯甲虫即属本科。叶甲的寄主植物以被子植物为主,裸子植物极少。寡食类群中,叶甲的分类系统与寄主植物之间常呈现平行现象。即很多叶甲“属”以一个或几个近缘的植物“科”为其寄杨叶甲生范围。例如,弗叶甲属、圆叶甲属以柳科植物为寄主;菜跳甲属寄生于十字花科;潜跳甲属橘齿跳甲属寄生于芸香科植物;毛跳甲属取食茄科植物;叶甲属取食柳科和桦木科;扁叶甲属取食胡桃科和桦木科。单食性种类中,有些已被用于生物除草。杨叶甲
