翼型  翼的横剖面形状,又称翼剖面。在空气动力学中,翼型通常理解为二维机翼,即剖面形状不变的无限翼展机翼。低速和亚声速翼型的典型外形如图所示。它前端圆滑,后端成尖角形;后尖点称为后缘;翼型上距后缘最远的点称为前缘;连接前后缘的直线称为翼弦,其长度称为弦长。在翼型内部作一系列与上下翼面相切的内切圆,诸圆心的连线称为翼型的中弧线,其中最大内切圆的直径称为翼型的厚度;中弧线和翼弦之间的最大距离称为弯度;前缘的曲率半径称为前缘半径。超声速翼型的前缘也可能是尖的。翼型的相对厚度和相对弯度分别定义为厚度和弯度对弦长之比,弯度为零的翼型称为对称翼型,其中弧线与翼弦重合。             当翼型相对于空气运动时,翼型表面会受到气流的作用力,其合力在翼型运动方向或来流方向上的分力是翼型所受到的阻力,垂直于上述方向的分力是翼型的举力。 这些作用力对前缘(或对距前缘1/4弦长点)的力矩称为俯仰力矩。在低速和亚声速情况下,还有一种翼型叫作层流翼型,它的最大厚度较靠后,边界层的层流段较长,因而摩擦阻力较小。在跨声速情形下,有一种翼型叫作超临界翼型,它的上表面比较平坦,翼面上一般只产生压缩波和膨胀波,间或有弱激波,因而波阻较小。
