泡桐泡桐Paulownia玄参科泡桐属落叶乔木的通称。共8种,在中国分布广泛,越南、老挝北部也有分布,朝鲜、日本、阿根廷、美国南部有引种栽培。在中国北起辽宁南部、北京、延安一线,南至广东、广西,东起台湾,西至云南、贵州、四川都有分布。主要栽培种有兰考泡桐、楸叶泡桐、毛泡桐、白花泡桐和川泡桐。木材纹理通直,结构均匀、不挠不裂,声学性好,供建筑、家具、人造板和乐器等用材;纤维素含量高,是造纸工业的好原料;叶、花、果和树皮可入药;树姿优美、花色艳丽,并有净化空气和抗大气污染的能力,是绿化的好树种。泡桐树花树皮灰色、灰褐色或灰黑色。假二杈分枝。单叶对生,卵形,全缘或有浅裂,具长柄,柄上有绒毛。花大,淡紫色或白色,顶生圆锥花序,由多数聚伞花序复合而成,花萼钟状或盘状,花冠钟形或漏斗形。蒴果卵形或椭圆形,熟后背缝开裂。种子多数为长圆形,小而轻,两侧具有条纹的翅。白色泡桐泡桐对热量要求较高。对大气干旱的适应能力较强,但因种类不同而有一定的差异。对土壤肥力、土层厚度和疏松程度也有较高的要求。怕水淹,在粘重的土壤上生长不良。土壤pH以6~7.5为好。育苗方法很多,有插根、播种和留根等,其中以插根育苗最普遍。造林地选在土层深厚、质地疏松和通气良好的壤土和砂壤土。一般在秋季落叶后到第二年春季发芽前均可造林。有的地区进行秋季带叶栽植,也取得较好的效果。泡桐丛枝病是较普遍的病害,防治方法包括选用无病母树的根作为繁殖材料,及时修除病树,选用抗病良种等。害虫有大袋蛾为害叶部,毛黄鳃金龟的幼虫食苗木根皮。
