氯化苄氯化苄benzylchloride分子式C6H5CH2Cl。又称氯苄、苄基氯、a-氯甲苯。无色液体,有刺激性气味。熔点-39℃,沸点179.3℃,相对密度1.1002(20/20℃)。溶于乙醇、乙醚等有机溶剂。氯化苄分子中的氯较为活泼,易被亲核试剂取代,生成相应的衍生物。在氯化苄的芳环上也能发生亲电取代反应,主要生成邻、对位取代产物。在光照下将氯气通入沸腾的甲苯,即可制得氯化苄,反应中须控制氯气用量,过量的氯气会导致氯化苄进一步氯化,生成a,a-二氯甲苯或a,a,a-三氯甲苯;它也可用氯甲基化法制取:氯化苄是有机合成工业中的重要中间体,可用于合成药物、农药、香料等。氯化苄蒸气能刺激眼粘膜而引起流泪,曾用作催泪剂;高浓度时有麻痹作用,并损害呼吸道和肺部。
