飞轮飞轮flywheel安装在机器回转轴上的具有较大转动惯量的轮状蓄能器。飞轮的作用主要为:①贮存多余和补充欠缺的能量,以保持工作机的转速平稳,改进动力机的工作状况和工作质量。当动力机的输出力矩有周期性波动(如柴油机等),而工作机对转速的平稳度有严格要求时(如并列运转的交流发动机等),飞轮的作用更为重要。②通过让飞轮的转速有较大的升降来贮存和放出能量,以降低动力机所需功率。当工作机载荷有周期变化(特别是有短暂的高峰)而转速允许有较大的变化(如冲压机、锻压机、剪切机等)时,利用飞轮可显著地降低动力机所需功率。例如,一台有飞轮的压力机其电动机功率为50千瓦(kW),如无飞轮,则电动机功率需要600kW才能满足压力高峰扭矩的需要。飞轮的结构一般有板式、辐板式和辐条式3种。为了减轻机械的重量,飞轮一般安装在转速较高的轴上,其质量分布远离旋转轴线。生产线中应用较广的是大轮缘的辐条式飞轮和用结构钢焊接的辐板式飞轮。部分装配式飞轮多用于低速重载的柴油机中。由于飞轮旋转时会产生较大的离心力,所以设计飞轮时要限制飞轮的线速度。铸铁飞轮的周速应小于25~35米/秒,铸钢的应小于50米/秒,盘形铸钢的飞轮周速应小于80米/秒。
