门头沟百花山自然风景区百花山自然保护区(百花山林场),现为北京市级自然保护区,重点保护天然植被,保护动、植物物种资源和风景旅游资源,使其逐渐恢复华北山区典型的自然风貌,为科研、教学实习、科学考察、会议、旅游和资源保护、利用、建设、开发服务。百花山地处北京市门头沟区境内,太行山北端,小五台山支脉。距市区100公里,道路交通便利。保护区经营管理总面积45000亩,森林覆盖率达96%。百花山主峰海拔1991米,最高峰百草畔海拔2049米,为北京市第三高峰。百花山动、植物资源丰富,素有华北"天然动植物园"之称,有四个植被类型,十个森林群落。植物种类有130科,485属,1100种,其中药用植物400余种。动物种类170种,其中有国家一级保护动物金钱豹、褐马鸡、黑鹳、金雕,国家二级保护动物斑羚、勺鸡。市级保护动物50余种。百花山地形、地貌、地质条件复杂,具有很高的科学价值和游览观赏价值。有反映地质变迁的历史遗迹--晚更新世和全新世早期寒冷条件下形成的“古石海”、“冰缘城堡”、“冰壁岩柱”等。百花山环境独特,风景优美,气候凉爽,是一个很好的旅游场所。年降水量720毫米以上,年均气温6-7摄氏度,七月份平均温度22摄氏度,是消夏避暑的胜地。这里水资源相当丰富,条条沟壑溪水长流,自海拔900米至2000米处均有清泉分布,且水质极好,无污染。百花山的风景资源可分为四大景区,35个景点:百花山主峰景区、百花草甸景区、望海楼景区、百草畔景区。这里风景独特,气候宜人,群山环抱,奇峰连绵,溪水潺潺,奇花异草,稀禽珍兽分布其中。
