门头沟百花山自然风景区百花山自然保护区(百花山林场),现为北京市级自然保护区,重点保护天然植被,保护动、植物物种资源和风景旅游资源，使其逐渐恢复华北山区典型的自然风貌，为科研、教学实习、科学考察、会议、旅游和资源保护、利用、建设、开发服务。百花山地处北京市门头沟区境内，太行山北端，小五台山支脉。距市区100公里，道路交通便利。保护区经营管理总面积45000亩，森林覆盖率达96%。百花山主峰海拔1991米，最高峰百草畔海拔2049米，为北京市第三高峰。百花山动、植物资源丰富，素有华北"天然动植物园"之称，有四个植被类型，十个森林群落。植物种类有130科，485属，1100种，其中药用植物400余种。动物种类170种，其中有国家一级保护动物金钱豹、褐马鸡、黑鹳、金雕，国家二级保护动物斑羚、勺鸡。市级保护动物50余种。百花山地形、地貌、地质条件复杂，具有很高的科学价值和游览观赏价值。有反映地质变迁的历史遗迹--晚更新世和全新世早期寒冷条件下形成的“古石海”、“冰缘城堡”、“冰壁岩柱”等。百花山环境独特，风景优美，气候凉爽，是一个很好的旅游场所。年降水量720毫米以上，年均气温6-7摄氏度，七月份平均温度22摄氏度，是消夏避暑的胜地。这里水资源相当丰富，条条沟壑溪水长流，自海拔900米至2000米处均有清泉分布，且水质极好，无污染。百花山的风景资源可分为四大景区，35个景点：百花山主峰景区、百花草甸景区、望海楼景区、百草畔景区。这里风景独特，气候宜人，群山环抱，奇峰连绵，溪水潺潺，奇花异草，稀禽珍兽分布其中。
