栅藻  又称栅列藻,绿藻门绿球藻目栅藻科的一属,通常由4~8个细胞,有时由16~32个细胞组成的定型群体,极少为单细胞。细胞常为椭圆形或纺锤形,以长轴排成1~2列或多列。细胞壁薄、光滑,或有颗粒、细齿、隆起线和刺等特殊构造。每个细胞内有1个周生色素体和1个蛋白核。光合作用色素主要为叶绿素a、叶绿素b、叶黄素和类胡萝卜素,因此生活的栅藻呈草绿色。以似亲孢子繁殖。    栅藻是淡水中常见的浮游藻类,极喜在营养丰富的静水中繁殖。许多种类对有机污染物具有较强的耐性,在水质评价中可作为指示生物,如斜生栅藻(Scenedesmusobliqnus)是甲型中污带的指示种;尖细栅藻(S.acuminatus)、弯曲栅藻 (S.arcuatus)、被甲栅藻(S.armatus)和四尾栅藻 (S.quadricauda)等是乙型中污带的指示种。                栅藻在水体自净和污水净化中有一定作用,是有机污水氧化塘生物相中的优势种类。它可与细菌同时附着在水中有机物碎片和其他水生植物体上,形成胶质层,吸附有机物。栅藻进行光合作用时,一方面产生氧气供细菌分解有机质的需要,另一方面还可直接利用有机质作为碳源和氮源,使水中有机物迅速降解,从而净化水体。               栅藻细胞内含有丰富的蛋白质和维生素,是鱼类很好的饲料,如利用有机污水氧化塘养鱼,可获高产。大量繁殖的藻体也可作家禽的饲料。斜生栅藻等又极易进行大量人工培养,故栅藻又是研究水体污染的一种很好的实验材料。
