玄武湖玄武湖位于中国南京市区东北玄武门外。湖周长15千米,面积为444公顷。湖水来自钟山北麓,分别经金川河、秦淮河流入长江。古名桑泊,历史上还有北湖、练湖、蒋陵湖、昆明湖等名称。于南朝宋元嘉二十五年(448)起用现名。明初在湖中梁洲建黄册库,贮藏全国户籍赋税档案。1911年辟为公园,1949年后经多次改造,面貌一新。湖中有五洲,洲间有桥堤相连,并建有动物园、儿童乐园。湖水碧波荡漾,风景如画。
