塑合木塑合木 是通过某些方法,把化学药剂(单体)注入木材,然后用加热催化法(化学法)或辐照法使单体在木材中聚合,充填于木材间隙中,或使它们与木材分手接枝共聚,制成木塑复合材。塑合木机械强度一般来说都比未经处理的木材为高,共硬度分别可提高6~8倍,抗弯强度和木螺钉保持力1.5—2倍,韧性大体上没有改变。比重与未经改,陆的素材相比也相应地增大;吸水性、吸湿性均比未经处理的素材要低;尺寸稳定性也得到提高,使体积收缩和膨胀有很大的改善,其抗收缩系数可达70~90%。另外,耐候性、耐腐性也有所提高,如在制造过程中同时注入防火剂,其耐燃性也可以提高。机械加工性能与木材基本上相同。外观与天然木材一样,能保持木材原来的色泽与纹理,并且能使其得到很大的改善,如在单体中加入染料,注入木材聚合后可制成各种色彩的塑合木,并能仿制各类珍贵木材(如紫檀、红木等)。可作为高级家具用材。
