曼海姆曼海姆(1893～1947)Mannheim，Karl德国社会学家。1893年3月27日生于布达佩斯，1947年1月9日卒于伦敦。先后就读于柏林大学、巴黎大学和海德堡大学，1918年获哲学博士学位。1926年任海德堡大学编外讲师。1930年任法兰克福大学社会学教授。1933年因受纳粹迫害逃往英国，任伦敦经济学院讲师。1942年后任伦敦大学教育学院教授。曼海姆是知识社会学的创始人和主要代表人物之一。他强调人的意识不可避免地依赖于人的社会地位，这是全部认识论包括现代认识论的基本要素。决定行动方式的正是这种深入到意识的“范畴结构”中的社会“存在制约”。为了建立知识社会学的理论基础，他一方面区别于相对主义和相关主义，强调历史上真理形成的前提；一方面强调精神的社会制约性对精神彻底解放的意义。曼海姆探讨时代民主蜕变为极权专政的原因，主张在保障人的社会价值的前提下，对自由加以设计，对各种社会力量进行调节。他认为精英人物在这种设计中负有特殊使命。著有《意识形态与乌托邦》、《变革时代的人与社会》、《自由、权力与民主设计》、《时代诊断》、《知识社会学论集》、《社会学系统论》等。
