去极化  无线电波在各向异性介质中传播时极化的改变。一种极化态的发射波,在传播过程中除有与发射波极化相同的所谓同极化分量外,还有一部分能量转换为正交极化波能量,即产生交叉极化波分量。去极化常用交叉极化分辨率(XPD)或交叉极化隔离度 (XPI)表示。XPD是指发射单一极化信号时,接收点场的同极化分量与交叉极化分量的功率比;XPI是指用同一频率同时传输两路互为正交的极化信号时,其中一种极化波的同极化分量与另一种极化波的交叉极化分量在接收点的功率比。XPD或XPI越大,表示去极化效应越小。    在微波和波长更短的波段,去极化主要产生于雨、冰晶和多径效应。睛空条件下的去极化主要产生于大气层结和地面的反射。一般说来,由于多径衰落,同极化衰减(CPA)增大时,XPD下降。因此常用 CPA的统计分布预测 XPD的统计分布。雨的去极化效应产生于雨滴的非球对称性。实际雨滴的形状随着直径的增加而成为底部扁平的椭球形,其短轴近似为对称轴,它与垂直方向的夹角为倾斜角。它的散射场由两个特征极化波组成,极化方向分别与对称轴平行和垂直。这两个正交极化波的衰减和相位之差分别称为差分衰减和差分相移,由此导致电波传播极化的改变。去极化的大小取决于入射极化相对于对称轴的取向。雨滴的倾斜角与风向有关,倾斜角一般都比较小,因此垂直极化和水平极化的去极化最轻微,45°线极化和圆极化的去极化最严重。雨的XPD的统计特性取决于 CPA和雨滴倾斜角的统计分布,并与路径倾角和极化倾角有关。大气融解层上方的冰晶在静电(如雷暴)作用下可按一定方向排列,成为各向异性介质,引起地空电路的去极化。这种去极化主要是由差分相移所致,即使在睛天信号没有什么衰减的情况下,也可能出现明显的去极化。干雪引起的去极化的特征与冰雪的去极化相同,而湿雪的去极化效应甚小。    去极化会引起对正交极化传输频率复用系统的交叉极化干扰。对去极化进行研究,一方面要对XPD的统计特性作出估计;另一方面要弄清去极化的机理,并据此提出补偿去极化的措施。
