剑道剑道Kendō日本的一种体育运动。又称剑术、剑法、击剑和击刀等。剑道由古代武士表演武技发展而来，在江户时代达到了鼎盛期。明治维新废除武士制度，禁止带刀，使剑道一度濒临灭亡。但到了明治末年，剑道又以振奋国民精神为名兴起。第二次世界大战结束初期，剑道组织解散，活动完全停止。但是，1950年日本人又以竹刀竞技名义恢复了剑道活动，并于1952年重新成立了全日本剑道联盟，剑道作为一种体育运动再次兴起。此后日本每年举行一次全国剑道大会。1970年国际剑道联盟成立，举行了第一届世界剑道大赛。剑道无论比赛还是练习，都必须使用竹刀，戴护身用具，穿白色或黑色和服。正式的剑道比赛要在专用的道场进行。比赛由正裁判主持，每场赛时为5分钟，个人比赛为3场，比赛时间内先胜两场者为胜。比赛开始时双方要互相行礼致意。比赛中，只有用竹剑的头部击中对方身体的规定部位才算得分，任何侮辱对方和裁判的言行都为犯规。剑士的段位是由初段到10段，5段以上的剑士中有特殊贡献者还可授予练士、教士、范士3种称号，其中范士为最高称号。
