银河系公民罗伯特 a 海因莱因－《银河系公民》《银河系公民》收录于《科幻世界》2004年5月下半月版的译文版，“白羊号”——这其实挺有意思的，按照黄道十二宫的顺序，好像白羊是第一宫——如果我能确信这不是受了《圣斗士星矢》的影响，我就能把那个“好像”给去掉，但在查资料之前，还是保留的好。毫无疑问，根据作者来找作品去看并不是一个太好的习惯，这很容易让我无法接触那些不怎么出名却写出了好作品的作者，而且，一个好的作者，未必每一篇作品都能让人满意。但大海捞针的话，有一个方向也不是什么太坏的事情。海因莱因是个鼎鼎大名的作者，在《银河系公民》之前我或许应该读过他的小说，因为杂七杂八的科幻作品我着实读了不少——这应该不算是太自夸。但遗憾的是我是在开始读书的很久之后才逐渐地学会了去记忆某些人的名字——尤其是外国人的名字，所以，我提不出任何证据来证明这一点，虽然即便是证明了也不算什么了不得的大事。但在《银河系公民》之后我应该是把海因莱因的名字记得很牢了。这是一本很不错的小说——或者说，非常不错。索比是奴隶，曾经差一点儿成了小偷，他加入了贸易商的行列，后来，又当了兵，身世大白的同时，他又成了富豪。在小说中海因莱因的才华不止一次地令我从心底惊叹，在这些角色切换的过程中，索比的心理变化细腻而又理所当然——或者这是因为他后来对反对奴隶这一态度的坚决而使我产生了错觉也说不定。当然，对于大师来说，这些仅仅是小菜，连开胃都不够。情节上的巧妙安排和作者的功底我觉得没有太大的关系，一个不识字的农民同样可以编出不错的故事，而且在发现其中的破绽之前，故事就已经结束了。《银河系公民》的好处在于……同一个人物在不同环境下的角色切换，只有在自己尝试之后才会发现这有多么大的难度。另外，叙述也可以成为一种艺术，只是单纯的叙述——或者，这才是真正能见功夫的地方。还有不得不提的是《银河系公民》的结尾，它嘎然而止时我叹息了，完全是发自内心的不由自主的叹息，我甚至不能分辨那究竟是出于欢乐、忧虑，或者是拜服。而在回头重新看这篇小说的时候，我才发现，也只有在索比决定斗争的那个地方嘎然而止才算是完美——这完全值得我借鉴。对于小说本身或者呼唤的某种东西，还有小说所涉及到的种种制度——有关人类学和其他方面的——我并不太在意，但这仅仅是出于我对这篇小说在技巧性上的杰出而被我刻意忽略了。ps：这一期的译文版中还收录了几篇别的东西，但除了对《冷酷的月亮》的介绍之外，的确是乏善可陈。
