念珠藻目  蓝藻门的1目。藻体为多细胞的丝状体,单一或多数藻丝在公共的胶质被中。藻丝单列,细胞为球形、椭圆形、圆柱形、腰鼓形等,同大,或从基部至梢端逐渐变细;藻丝平直,弯曲或规则地卷曲、旋绕;丝状体无分枝或具各式样的伪分枝;具胶鞘,鞘内有一至多条藻丝。依属种的不同,其胶鞘为透明无色或有颜色,均质或有层理,胶状或坚韧;藻丝大多数具异形胞,为球形,长球形或锥形,位于藻丝的基部(基生)、在营养细胞之间(间生)、或在藻丝的两端(端生);伪分枝发生的位置往往和异形胞有关。有许多属具厚壁孢子,基生或间生,有时(例如念珠藻属)在整个藻丝上除异形胞外,其全部的营养细胞都可发育成厚壁孢子。有许多属产生段殖体进行繁殖。    本目下分5科:念珠藻科(Nostocaceae)、微毛藻科(Microchaetaceae)、胶须藻科(Rivulariaceae)、伪枝藻科(Scytonemataceae)和颤藻科 (Oscillatoriaceae)。    亦有将颤藻科另列为颤藻目 (Oscillatoriales)的,因为它缺异形胞和厚壁孢子,体制上与其他几科有明显差异。    本目蓝藻有的可作食用,如发菜、葛仙米、螺旋藻等;有许多能固氮,可作为生物肥源,如鱼腥藻,单歧藻等。有一些种类是引起水体水华的主要种类,有重要的生态意义。
