“绿色黄金”印楝树印楝属楝科植物,原生印度、缅甸和巴基斯坦,是一种树干高大、四季常绿的热带速生乔木,树干直径可达2米以上,一年半可长5米高,并开花结果,产果期为100多年。它耐干旱、高温和贫瘠,树有多高根就有多深,对保持水土具有重要作用。它还有极高的经济价值:木材属优质红木类,且蓄积率很高;种仁所含印楝素可提炼能杀灭200种害虫的生物农药“王中王”;树叶和嫩枝提取物是欧洲国家畅销牙膏的添加剂,叶可煎汁治疗溃疡和外伤消毒,亦可用于粮食、书籍防蛀;树根含糖、胶、蛋白及色安酸,其浸提物能治皮肤病;其小叶柄基部流淌的一种蜜汁还可养蜂。此外,印楝的根、枝、叶、皮还可制作肥料、土壤改良剂等。印楝因而有“绿色黄金”之称。(源自中国花卉报)
