硫化镉 一种N型光电导半导体材料。属Ⅱ-Ⅵ族化合物半导体。化学式CdS,分子量144.476,属六方晶格结构,晶格常数5.86×10-10m,熔点1750℃,禁带宽度2.41电子伏,电子和空穴的迁移率分别为2×10-2和2×10-3米2/伏·秒,相对介电常数11.6。硫化镉由于不易制成单晶,因而虽然它比锗、硅和砷化镓还早进入实用阶段,但对它的研究还很不深入,使用时也大多用其多晶烧结体和薄膜。硫化镉是灵敏度较高的N型光电导器件材料,也是压电器件材料。它与硫化锌的固溶体可制成激光波长为(3300~4900)×10-10米的激光器;与硒化镉的固溶体可制成激光波长为(4900~6750)×10-10米的激光器;与碲化镉制成的薄膜异质结太阳能电池虽然效率低于10%,但价格便宜,并且可制成大面积器件。
