非平衡态  系统中状态变量不是常量的定常状态。定常状态指系统从初始状态开始随时间演进而进入的终态。非平衡态就是除平衡态以外的定常状态,包括周期运动状态(即振荡态)、概周期状态(即遍历态)以及混沌态。平衡态可看作是周期运动中振幅收缩到零的极限情况。与平衡态一样,非平衡态也有稳定和不稳定两类。狭义的非平衡态指稳定的非平衡态。在动态系统中稳定的定常状态称为系统的吸引子。除混沌态以外的稳定定常状态称为平庸吸引子,而奇异吸引子则指混沌这种非平衡态。    例如用逻辑斯蒂映射描述生态系统中某一种群数量的动态规律为:

  式中x为状态变量,表示该种群数量与某个特征数(最大可能的个数)之比,n为离散时间(第n代),λ为控制参量。当λ≤3时,系统的终态是平衡态。当 3<λ<4时,系统的终态是非平衡态。当λ=3.5时,系统的终态是每4 代重复一次的周期解:0.383、0.827、0.501、0.875、0.383、0.827、0.501、0.875...,这种循环即为非平衡态。当λ=4时,系统的终态是x在0和1之间(好像)随机地取值,没有稳定的循环出现,但终态以确定的概率密度分布p(x)出现于0和1之间:          这种非平衡态即为混沌。
