受激喇曼散射  某物质能级1与能级2之间的能量差为h墹v(见图),当频率为v的单色光入射到此介质中时,如处于能级 1的介质分子吸收一个入射光子而跃迁到某个虚能级上,并从此虚能级跃迁回到能级2上,同时发射一个频率为vs=v-墹v的散射光子,则vs线称为喇曼散射的斯托克斯线。若处于能级 2上的分子吸收一个入射光子,随后从虚能级跃迁回到能级1上,并发射一个频率为va=v+墹v的散射光子,则va线称为喇曼散射的反斯托克斯线。?比肷涔馇拷先跏?,散射过程基本上是自发散射,即普通的喇曼散射。当入射光是很强的激光时,受激散射成为主导的。散射光的这种变化过程有明显的阈值。入射光强超过此阈值后,散射光的强度突然增大,并有很高的方向性、单色性和相干性。这就是受激喇曼散射。受激喇曼散射可用于物质结构的研究,同时又是产生具有新波长的激光的一种方法。基于此效应而制成的喇曼移频器,已使激光输出波长扩展到远红外和真空紫外范围。利用后向喇曼散射,可以压缩激光脉冲的宽度,从而获得极高的峰值功率。(见彩图)
