铁生沟冶铁遗址铁生沟冶铁遗址中国汉代冶铁和制造铁器工场的遗址。位于河南巩义市铁生沟村。1958年发现,1959年发掘,是已知的汉代冶铁遗址中出土物最丰富的一处。年代约当西汉中晚期至东汉。遗址中发现炼炉(高炉)、锻炉、炒钢炉、退火脱碳炉,以及烘范窑、配料池、房基、铁器、铁范、铁料、耐火材料和建筑材料等。附近有多处古铁矿坑道。研究表明,这里是一处冶炼生铁、铸铁、脱碳退火(柔化处理)、制造铁器的综合性工场,生产的基本环节是:炼铁、铸造、脱碳退火;或炼铁、铸锭、炒钢、锻造。出土的部分铁器上有“河三”铭文,推测这里应是汉代河南郡所辖的第三号制铁作坊。
