炼焦煤  在隔绝空气条件下加热,能软化形成胶质体并结为焦炭的烟煤。    分类和特性 根据煤的变质程度和粘结性参数,中国于1958年将煤分成十大类,其中属于炼焦用煤范围的有四大类,即气煤、肥煤、焦煤和瘦煤,有关指标如下:    气煤 变质程度较低,挥发分较高,受热软化时胶质体量少,热稳定性差。在形成半焦之后,由于热缩聚剧烈,收缩较大,又因它的气孔率大、气孔壁薄,难于抵抗收缩应力,所以单独用气煤炼成的焦炭,裂纹多且深,焦块细而脆(气煤中的2号肥气煤,粘结性较好,可以单独炼焦)。气煤在炼焦配煤中可起减小膨胀压力和增大焦饼收缩的作用,并可提高焦炉煤气和炼焦化学产品的产率。    肥煤 变质程度比气煤稍高,受热时能产生大量的胶质体,因此具有很强的粘结性,而且流动性和热稳定性都好,是炼焦配煤中的重要成分。用肥煤单独炼焦时,焦炭熔融好,强度高,但横裂纹多,气孔率较高,焦饼中心有海绵焦。    焦煤 变质程度比肥煤又稍高,具有中等挥发分与中等胶质层厚度。单独炼焦时能形成热稳定性很好的胶质体,而且半焦收缩较小较慢,因此能得到气孔率较低、粒度大、裂纹少、机械强度高的焦炭,但焦煤在成焦过程中膨胀压力大,容易造成推焦困难。全世界的焦煤储量有限,在炼焦配煤中务须节约使用。    瘦煤 变质程度较高,挥发分较低,受热时产生胶质体少,半焦收缩小。用它单独炼焦时,焦炭粒度大,裂纹少,但熔融性差,不耐磨。瘦煤在炼焦配煤中起减少焦炭裂纹并增大粒度的作用。    配煤 炼焦煤料主要由上述各种煤按适当比例配合而成。炼焦配煤的原则是:节约优质炼焦煤,合理利用资源;在各种煤之间取长补短,以求获得质量合格的焦炭。当前中国炼焦配煤是以焦煤和肥煤为基础,适当配入气煤和瘦煤,尽量配入本地区的弱粘结性煤。    扩大炼焦煤源的新途径 中国炼焦煤资源虽较丰富,但分布不均衡,大部分地区气煤储量多,而焦煤和肥煤较缺。必须合理利用并扩大炼焦煤源,主要途径为:捣固炼焦、配型煤炼焦、预热煤炼焦、型焦。
