自激 电力系统中由于参数配合而产生的某种状态量自发的异常升高。即自激振荡。实际电力系统的电磁特性可以用由电阻R、 电感L、电容C组成的串联和并联两种基本电路的组合来模拟，因此可能在一个或一个以上的频率上建立起造成电压谐振或电流谐振的条件。例如，较小容量的发电机连接长距离输电线路，若空载状态下线路充电容量（容性)超过某一数值时,即可产生自激现象。当电源或负荷中存在某次谐波时，就可以造成某次谐波的电压和电流的增大。如输电线路中采用串联电容补偿可能导致电站发电机的自励磁，也可能导致用户异步电机群的自励磁。发电机自励磁分为同步自励磁（发电机转速保持同步速度）和异步自励磁（发电机转速偏离同步速度）。异步电机的自励磁常发生在异步电机的转速接近正常值而定子电路阻抗发生变化时；或者发生在异步电机起动过程中。不论那种形式的自激，都将在电力系统中造成危险的过电流和过电压，必须预先进行分析，采取预防性措施。分析方法通常采用特征值法，但对于简单结构的系统也可采用实用判据法。 铁磁谐振是自激的一种形式。含有铁心的电感元件，当电流增大时，铁心饱和、电感下降，而使电路中电感和电容的匹配构成谐振条件，从而激发产生铁磁谐振。 次同步谐振是电力系统中一种特殊形式的自激。它是在高压输电线路上具有高补偿度的串联电容的情况下，汽轮发电机定子电路参数谐振频率与机组轴系的机械参数谐振频率发生共振而引起的。共振频率一般低于同步频率，所以称为次同步谐振。它可能造成机组大轴受到扭转力矩的作用而损坏。1970和1971年美国莫哈夫电厂两台79万千瓦的双轴单元机组就由于这种原因而遭到损坏。
