气蚀  液体流动中形成的气泡破灭时对零件表面不断冲击而引起的一种磨损,又称空蚀。气泡的破灭决定于气泡内外压力差和表面能。当液体的局部压力比蒸汽压力低时便形成气泡,气泡流到高压区突然破灭,瞬间产生局部高压,冲击零件表面而引起损坏。在船舶螺旋桨、水泵和水轮机的叶片上常发生气蚀破坏。在实际工作中侵蚀、气蚀、腐蚀磨损等常混在一起发生,使零件迅速失效,如砂浆泵常在很短的时间内即报废。防止或减少气蚀的方法是:①合理地设计结构,使有关零件的外形保持正确的型面,不使液流发生局部旋涡,保持其周围的液体压力不小于一定数值,尽量避免气泡产生;②选用适当的材料如锰青铜和不锈钢。非金属材料中的橡胶和尼龙等也都具有一定的抗气蚀和腐蚀能力。
