氩39-氩40法测年分子式:CAS号:性质:将含钾样品放入核反应堆中接受快中子照射,40K核被打进一个中子,而后放出一个质子,形成39Ar,用质谱计测定被照射样品的40Ar/39Ar比值,代替常规钾-氩法中40Ar/40K比值,从而计算出样品年龄的方法,计算公式如下:t=λ-1ln(1+J•40Ar/39Ar)。式中J=39Ar/40Ar•λ/λkΔT∫φ(ε)σ(ε)dε是样品照射持续的时间,Ф(ε)是能量为ε时的中子通量,σ(ε)为39K(n,p)39Ar的反应截面,实验中用一已知年龄(ts)的标准与待测样品一块进行辐照,由下式求得J值:J=(eλt-1)/(40Ar/39Ar)。此方法解决了过去钾、氩分别由不同方法测定所产生的不同误差使年龄精度较低的弊端;同时由于照射后样品氩的释放可采用阶段加温方法,对一个样品便可获得一系列的表面年龄,最终得到代表矿物或岩石结晶的稳定坪年龄;或由等时线法处理得到样品的年龄、认识外来氩的混入状况。
