苏丹草苏丹草Sorghumsudanense禾本科高粱属。一年生草本。因原产苏丹而得名。20世纪40年代引入中国栽培。植株高2~3米,茎圆柱状直立。叶狭披针形。圆锥花序。种子倒卵圆形,淡黄至棕黄色。喜热耐旱,对土壤要求不严,最适排水良好的土壤。春季播种前宜耕翻,施基肥,每亩播种量约1.0~2.5千克,与豆科作物混播可提高青贮饲料的品质。通常一年收获两茬。干物质中平均含粗蛋白质9.80%,粗脂肪2.03%,无氮浸出物47.47%,粗纤维31.83%,粗灰分8.8%。
