桔梗科桔梗科Campanulaceae双子叶植物纲菊亚纲的一科。草本,少半灌木,稀灌木,大多有乳汁。叶互生、对生,稀轮生,无托叶。花序各式,最常见的是聚伞花序、总状花序和穗状花序,也有单花的;花两性,常5数;花萼通常上位,少周位或下位;花冠合瓣,辐射对称或两侧对称而后方(背部)纵裂至基部,或有时由于花冠深裂而近似离瓣花冠;雄蕊与花冠裂片同数而互生;子房大多下位,多为2~5室,胚珠多数。蒴果,少为浆果。广布于全球,约有70属2000余种。中国有17属约170种,主产西南部。刺萼参属和同钟花属为中国特有属。桔梗该科植物主要为药用,有许多著名中药材,如党参、桔梗、沙参和半边莲等。此外,风铃草属和沙参属植物的花大、形状如钟,有观赏价值,国外已引种栽培。根据花果和解剖特征,科下可分为5个相当自然的类群(亚科):即桔梗亚科、半边莲亚科、弯曲草亚科、尖瓣花亚科和五膜草亚科。
