泽泻科泽泻科Alismataceae单子叶植物纲泽泻亚纲的一科。多年生草本,有根状茎。叶大多数基生,直立或浮水以至沉水,泽泻叶随生活习性有种种形态。花有花梗,生于花茎上成总状花序,或生于花茎的轮状分枝上成圆锥花序,两性或单性,整齐,萼片3,花瓣3,雄蕊6至多数,稀3,心皮分离,6至多数,稀3,子房上位,1室,有1倒生胚珠,稀较多。瘦果,稀蓇葖。有13属90种,广布于各地,生水中或沼泽地。中国有5属13种,南北均产。习见的有泽泻属、慈姑属植物。泽泻俗名水药菜。野生及栽培。地下块茎近圆球形,长4~7厘米,直径3~5厘米,块茎中含有泽泻醇A、泽泻醇B等5种三萜类化合物以及挥发油、有机酸、1种植物甾醇、1种植物甾醇苷、树脂、蛋白质及大量淀粉,功用利水泄热。叶亦可治乳汁不通。慈姑多年生水生草本,常栽培,有匍枝,枝端膨大的球茎供食用,也入药,功用益肺化痰,清热解毒。对该科在系统学上的位置有不同意见,有不少人认为该科为单子叶植物中最原始科之一。欧洲中部第三纪中新世地层中出现类似泽泻属、慈姑属、泽苔草属的化石。泽泻
