命门命门人体生命的根本。最初指眼睛和睛明穴。自《难经》开始将命门作为内脏提出。关于命门的部位，历代医家多有争论，提出种种见解。如有认为右肾为命门者，有将两肾俱称命门者，有认为两肾之间独立存在命门者等等，尚无定论。对于其形态，有有形和无形的两种说法。前一种说法认为命门是一个具有形质的脏器。后一种说法认为命门没有经脉与它直接联系，不是一个具有形质的脏器，只是存在于两肾中间的一种原气发动之机。尽管历代诸家对命门的形态和位置见解不一，但对其在人体生命活动中的作用却都十分重视。认为命门是人身阳气的根本，生命活动的动力，对男子所藏生殖之精和女子胞宫的生殖功能有重要影响，对各脏腑的生理活动，起着温煦、激发和推动作用，对饮食物的消化、吸收与运输，以及水液代谢等都具有促进作用。近代的观点，多倾向于命门是藏真火，而称之为命门火。临床上，命门火衰(见命门火衰证)主要表现为四肢清冷，下利清谷，或五更泄，男子阳痿，早泄，女子宫寒不孕，舌质淡，脉沉迟等虚寒之象。
