乐清湾乐清湾是一个难得的天然良湾，她位于浙江南部瓯江入海口北侧，原为潮流通道形港湾。东侧是玉环县，西岸是乐清市，温岭市在其湾顶，湾口是洞头县各岛屿。沿岸有清江、白溪、水涨、灵溪、江下等30余条大小溪流入注湾内。位于玉环县的大麦屿是浙南最主要的深水港资源分布区，港区水深大多在9~30米之间，最深区达41米，可建1~5万吨级以上泊位30多个，10万吨级的深水泊位4个……玉环当地的居民告诉记者，在玉环附近的深水港区曾经能看到跳跃翻腾的海豚。更难得的是乐清湾有可待开发的潮汐能源，乐清湾的潮差较大，一次大潮的进潮总量达21.3ⅹ108立方米，湾内有适宜于建立潮汐电站的坝址，装机容量可达55万千瓦。而乐清湾33.1万亩的海涂是贝类养殖的天然牧场，这更是乐清湾值得骄傲的自然资源。在乐清湾有各种主要的经济鱼类20余种，其中大黄鱼是主要的鱼类资源，还有58种贝类，60种甲克类动物，整个乐清湾水质肥沃，饵料生物丰富，十分利于海水养殖，是浙江省蛏、蚶、牡蛎三大贝类的养殖基地和苗种基地。而且由于乐清湾的水体容量大，东临东海、使乐清湾西部的乐清市沿山麓地带，因山走势与海岸平行，北部有山地阻隔，形成热量、水分、温度条件较好的陆域港湾小气候，所以，湾内冬季温暖，春季气温回升早，使乐清湾沿岸地区气候条件优越。乐清湾本身天然拥有不少湿地，湿地本来就是希缺的海洋资源，有“地球的肾脏”的美誉。乐清湾是上天赐给浙江的一个天然良湾，如此优越的海洋地理环境不仅浙江少有，在全国乃至世界范围内也是罕见的。
