库尔勒库尔勒Korla Ku,erle库尔勒(Korla)中国新疆维吾尔自治区中部交通枢纽,巴音郭楞蒙古自治州首府。位于塔里木盆地东北缘,北距乌鲁木齐262千米。辖4个办事处、10个乡、7个农牧园艺场。面积7450平方千米,人口2902万,其中城区面积34平方千米,人日17.36万(1993)。有汉、维吾尔、回、蒙古、满、哈萨克等22个民族,汉族占人口的63%,维吾尔族占34%。西汉为渠犁国地。东汉被焉者国兼并。唐设焉脊都督府和渠犁都督府。清乾隆时设三品伯克管理。1930年置设治局,属焉菩行政区。1 939年设库尔勒县。1979年析县置市。1984年撤县人市。库尔勒北依天山支脉霍拉山,东邻库鲁克塔格,两山之间有长达14千米的铁门关峡谷;南抵塔里木盆地。地势北高南低、西高东低,为扇形绿洲带,平均海拔933米。以博斯腾湖为水源的孔雀河,经铁门关峡谷从东北向西南纵贯全境,流人罗布泊。属暖温带大陆性干旱气候。年平均气温11℃,1月平均气温一8℃,7月平均气温26℃。11月中旬至翌年3月中旬为结冰期,无霜期228天。年平均降水量51.5毫米。全年盛行东北风,风力3一5级,8级以上大风约犯天,多在5月前后。铁路东通吐鲁番与兰州一乌鲁木齐线相接;公路干线北通乌鲁木齐,东通吐鲁番,西通喀什,南达若羌;民航通往乌鲁木齐、喀什、和田和且末等地;是南、北疆的交通咽喉与物资集散中心。工业以煤炭、电力、造纸、纺织、建材为主,农业以小麦、玉米、棉花为主。库尔勒地势险要,为古代丝绸之路的交通要隘,兵家必争之地。1870年中亚浩罕汗国(今乌兹别克斯坦境内)军事头目阿古柏率部从喀什入浸库尔勒,库尔勒人民进行了英勇抗击。(宋晓祥)
