阿克苏阿克苏Aksu Akesll阿克苏(A ksu)中国新疆维吾尔自治区西部边境重镇，阿克苏地区辖市。“阿克苏”维吾尔语“白水”之意，故亦称“白水城”。位于天山南麓，塔里木盆地西北缘，东北距乌鲁木齐660千米。辖4个街道办事处、7乡、2场。面积18 370平方千米，人口42.59万，其中城区面积25平方千米，人口18.46万(1993)。有汉、维吾尔、回等民族，其中汉族占人口的55%，维吾尔族占44%。汉为姑墨国地，属西域都护府管辖。元属察合台后王封地。清乾隆年间定名阿克苏，设阿克苏镇，总兵驻此，光绪年间为温宿州、府治所。1913年设阿克苏县，1983年改为市。地势西北高东南低，西北部有天山山脉的托术尔峰，海拔7 435米，东南部是塔克拉玛干沙漠。城区坐落在阿克苏河和托什干河冲积平原上，海拔1 114米。属暖温带大陆性干旱气候，年平均气温9月℃，1月平均气温一8，7℃，7月平均气温23.4℃。年平均降水量94.3毫米，无霜期224天。农业主产水稻、小麦、棉花、玉米、甜菜等，是新疆重要的粮棉生产基地。工业有煤炭、农机、化工、纺织、电力、制糖、制革等，尤以轻纺工业发达，被誉为轻纺工业新城。是连通南北疆交通的枢纽，有干线公路通拜城、喀什、库车等地，支线公路通境内各乡、场。民航通往鸟鲁木齐、喀什、和田等地。 (闰光学)
