中国海洋湖沼学会 中国海洋科学和湖沼科学工作者的群众性学术团体。学会办事机构现在青岛市。主要任务是开展国内外学术交流，编辑学术书刊，推动海洋与湖沼科学的发展，同时普及海洋、湖沼科学技术知识，开展咨询活动，并对国家海洋和湖沼资源的开发利用、发展战略及科学技术政策提出建议。 中国海洋湖沼学会于1950年1月在上海成立,选举秉志为第一任理事长。并先后在北京、上海、青岛、厦门、武汉等地建立了分会。1950年8月,总会由上海迁至北京，理事长改由孙云铸担任。1953年 6月又由北京迁至青岛，选举张玺为理事长。1963年在武汉召开了第二届全国会员代表大会暨学术年会，选举张玺为理事长。1978年在青岛召开会员代表大会，选举曾呈奎任理事长。1979年和1984年先后在武汉和青岛召开第三、第四届全国会员代表大会，曾呈奎连任理事长。 学会成立以来，先后建立了水文气象、海岸河口、海洋化学、水环境、鱼类、贝类和藻类等二级学会以及风暴潮研究会。1950年 2月学会曾参与北京12个科学学会联合举办的论文报告会，并先后组织过 8次公开演讲会和承担了1951年 5月举办的动物演化展览会的大部分筹备工作。1961～1984年，分别在青岛、武汉等地举行数次全国性海洋科学学术会议，交流学术论文2000多篇。各省、市地方学会也先后组织学术交流会60余次，学术报告会80余次，学术考察活动30余次。1983年 6月，和中国科学院海洋研究所一起受国际海藻协会的委托，在青岛召开了第十一届国际海藻学术讨论会。学会同许多国家的有关学术团体保持经常联系和学术期刊交换。 学会还协助自然科学名词审定委员会进行了海洋湖沼方面名词的审译、修订工作，组织了有关专著和知识丛书的撰写以及专题报告会。学会编辑出版的学术期刊为《海洋与湖沼》和《中国海洋湖沼学报》（英文版），以及《中国海洋湖沼科学会议论文集》等。
