坡缕石  化学组成为(Mg,Al)2Si4O10(OH)2·4H2O、晶体属单斜晶系的链层状结构硅酸盐矿物。也称凹凸棒石。通常成白、浅灰或浅褐色的粗纤维状、土状以及类似树皮的片状集合体,后者的裂片平坦,并能弯曲,故俗称山软木。光泽暗淡。硬度2~3,比重2.1~2.3。干燥时具吸水性。坡缕石可由沉积成因,或由富含镁的岩石和基性火山灰蚀变而成。用作建筑工业上的绝热、隔音等材料。世界最主要产地为西班牙的瓦拉卡斯,中国产地主要在江苏安徽两省毗邻地区。
