铑铑rhodium一种化学元素。化学符号Rh，原子序数45，原子量102.9055，属周期系Ⅷ族，为铂系元素的成员。1803年英国W.H.渥拉斯顿从粗铂中分离出一种新元素，因它的许多化合物都呈鲜艳的玫瑰红色，故命名为rhodium，该字来源于希腊文rhodon，含义是“玫瑰”。铑在地壳中的含量为1×10-7％，常与其他铂系元素一起分散于冲积矿床和砂积矿床的多种矿物(如原铂矿、镍黄铁矿、硫化镍铜矿、磁铁矿等)中。独立矿物有硫砷钌铑矿，还以游离状态存在于自然合金（如锇铱合金）中。铑是银白色金属，熔点1966±3℃，沸点3727±100℃，相对密度12.4。质极硬，耐磨，有延展性，在热的状态下十分柔韧，可加工成细丝或薄片，铑还有良好的导电和导热性能。铑的化学性质不活泼，在空气中加热时，表面形成二氧化铑薄膜，加热至300℃与氯、溴发生反应。铑能耐酸和王水的侵蚀，但在200～600℃时与热的浓硫酸和氢溴酸发生反应。铑的氧化态为－1、＋1、＋2、＋3、＋4。以＋3和＋4价化合物稳定。铑容易形成配位化合物，如Cs[Rh(SO4)2]。用王水溶解经处理后的铂精矿或电解有色金属时产生的阳极泥，经一系列化学处理后，可得六氯合铑（）酸铵，经灼烧后在氢气流中加热至1000℃，便被还原为海绵状金属铑。纯铑用于制电触头、低接触电阻的电接触器、高强度弹簧、高温电热丝、坩埚、电极等。铂铑合金用作电热丝、高温发热材料、热电偶以及氨氧化制硝酸、氢氰酸合成中的催化剂。铑铱合金用于制高级镜面和反光镜。
