沙雷氏菌属  肠杆菌科的 1属。能产生非水溶性黄、紫和红色素的革兰氏染色阴性小杆菌。一般存在于土壤、水、植物、动物以及人类的肠道和呼吸道中。DNA中的G+C克分子含量为53~59%。有粘质沙雷氏菌、液化沙雷氏菌、深红沙雷氏菌等,其生物学特性见表。          粘质沙雷氏菌  又称灵杆菌,为细菌中最小者,约0.5×(0.5~1.0)微米。周身鞭毛,能运动。无荚膜,无芽胞,在普通琼脂平板上25~30℃培养1~2天出现粘性、中心颗粒状、有恶臭的菌落。约半数菌株能产生红色的灵菌素(prodigiosin)。在室温条件下易促进色素的生成,因本菌小且有色素,常用于检定滤菌器的质量。有46个血清型,血清型与色素产生无关。一般不致病,近年有报告说可引起肺部感染、脑膜炎、心内膜炎、尿路感染、灼伤后败血症等。尤其在类固醇类激素,免疫抑制药造成机体免疫力降低时,容易发病。    液化沙雷氏菌和深红沙雷氏菌可在痰液中发现,与疾病的关系不明。
