鱼腥藻属鱼腥藻属Anabeana蓝藻目念珠藻科的一属。藻丝单一,或群集成群体;自由漂浮,或粘附基质上。整条藻丝粗细一致,或在其两端稍变细;藻丝直或弯曲,或作不规则绕曲,有的藻丝外面有透明、无色的水样胶鞘。每条藻丝亦呈念珠状。该属和念珠藻属类似,二者的主要区别在于:①本属的厚壁孢子常大量在异形胞间形成,后者仅形成少数厚壁孢子。②本属群体无坚韧定形的总胶被,念珠藻有。鱼腥藻约100种,中国已报道有31种和8个变种。绝大多数是淡水产,生长在水中或湿地上;另外有极少数的种生活于维管植物的组织间隙,营共生作用,例如在满江红(又称红萍)的叶腔中的满江红鱼腥藻,在苏铁的珊瑚状根中的苏铁鱼腥藻。该属中有34种(不包括变种)已报道有固氮作用;中国已发现的固氮种有10余种(不包括变种),如苏铁鱼腥藻、满江红鱼腥藻、固氮鱼腥藻、水华鱼腥藻、雷万鱼腥藻、螺旋鱼腥藻、多变鱼腥藻,类颤鱼腥藻等。该属中的一些种如螺旋鱼腥藻、水华鱼腥藻和卷曲鱼腥藻等,在池塘湖泊中往往形成水华,是水体富营养化的一个标志。有的水华含有有毒物质。
