易县易县位于中国河北省中偏西北部。1990年人口15.17万，其中非农业人口2.72万。汉族为主，有满、回、蒙古、壮、朝鲜、水、布依、苗等少数民族，共2.77万人。面积2534平方千米，耕地4.28万公顷。隋开皇元年（581）置易州，因境内易水得名，十六年设易县。唐开元二十三年（735）析设五迥县。北宋太平兴国六年（981）涞水县并入。辽复析置。金大定六年(1166)析置定兴县。元初省县入州，至元三年（1266）复置。明洪武初入州。清雍正十一年(1733)升直隶州。1913年2月易州降为易县。1940年7月析置龙华县。1942年2月与定兴、涞水组成定易涞联合县。1946年4月12日恢复原建制龙华，定易涞县撤销。1958年10月兴县和涞水县镇场、白涧、大河南三镇并入。1961年5月恢复定兴县。1962年1月恢复涞水县。金属矿有金、铁等，非金属矿有磷、膨润土、石灰石、煤、花岗石、石棉、蛭石等。药用动物有蝉蜕、全蝎、五灵脂等。药用植物有苦参、沙参、黄芩、知母、丹参、枣仁、柴胡等。土特产主要有京西大烟叶、易县水砚、易县豆腐干、易县大柿子。名胜古迹主要有易州景区、紫荆关景区、清西陵景区、狼牙山景区、洪崖山景区。
