批判实在论批判实在论criticalrealism20世纪20年代前后在美国继新实在论而出现的哲学流派。倡导者为D.德雷克、A.O.洛夫乔伊、J.B.普拉特、A.K.罗杰斯、G.桑塔雅那、R.W.塞拉斯、C.A.斯特朗。他们于1921年联合出版了题为《批判实在论论文集》一书，标志着这一流派正式形成。桑塔雅那被认为是主要代表人物。批判实在论具有明显的批判主义特征，即认为人们不可能直接认识实在本身。它放弃了新实在论那种接近于朴素实在论的一元论的认识路线，认为认识主体和客体是二元地存在的。30年代后期起，逐渐丧失影响。
